
The company comScore has published a new study popularity of search engines in the U.S. and the world based on data for July 2008
On the world market share of Google decreased by 3.8%, reaching a mark of 64.1%. According to comScore, a drop primarily connected with the changing way of measuring traffic in China, Brazil and Russia.
The share of the largest Chinese search engine Baidu has grown by 5.2% to 12.9%. Baidu is the third largest search service in the world. The second place Yahoo (14,6%).
In the U.S. share of Google rose by 0.4% compared with June and amounted to 61.9%. The share of Yahoo, by contrast, decreased by 0.4% to 20.5%. Next come the Microsoft (8,9%), AOL (4,5%) and Ask (4,2%).
